High Care and Medium Care Thoracic Surgery

In the High Care department thoracic surgery patients are treated who following their IC period have to undergo further invasive monitoring. The intensive care staff are responsible for the medical policy in High Care. In Medium Care thoracic surgery patients are nursed both pre- and post-operatively for all sorts of heart and lung operations. The department also has a pre-operative nursing clinic. In this department there is a training place for training as a Nurse Practitioner and of course also one placement for Higher and Middle vocational education students (HBO and MBO-V).
