Working in the Thoraxcenter

The Thoraxcenter of the Erasmus MC consists of the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery department. The Thoraxcenter comprises an Operating Theater unit, an Intensive Care unit, a High/Medium Care Thoracic Surgery unit, an Outpatient unit, a Medium Care Cardiology unit and an Angio Rooms unit, consisting of Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology. The Thoraxcenter is in fact a small hospital. This also makes working for the Thoraxcenter so unique, because you are working in a conveniently arranged and intimate organization with as many as 550 colleagues, while you also enjoy the benefits of the big academic Erasmus MC. The challenge of working in the Thoraxcenter therefore lies in the use of modern technology and science combined with patient care. We use all the new techniques and innovations here. That is why we stand out from other hospitals and departments.
